Training dates for the new federal guidelines as it relates to produce food safety have been announced. Both Desert Farming Initiative and the Nevada Department of Agriculture will lead Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) trainings to assist growers with meeting the new regulations. For the last few weeks, the Desert Farming Initiative has been harvesting their Main Station Field for distribution to Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada for hunger relief programs. We are so excited to be part of a partnership that provides fresh vegetable to the community.
