In addition to acting as a demonstration and research resource in Nevada, DFI operates a year-round commercial farm producing a large variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs sold at many leading Reno establishments. All crops are produced with organic farming methods and DFI is currently in the process of obtaining organic certification.
For the public, our produce is available:
- 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. every Tuesday at the Sparks United Methodist Farmers Market (1231 Pyramid Way, Sparks, NV 89431)
- 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. every Thursday starting Aug 22 and ending November 7 at our campus farm stand (in front of the Fleischmann Agriculture Building directions and location)
- Via the Great Basin Community Food Co-op and DROPP
DFI vegetables are also served up at UNR Campus dining, Renown Health, and a select group of Reno restaurants.
