The sides of the wash house are finally up! Produce will be washed, sorted, bagged and stored here. This will also be the location of our summer farm stand, where people will be able to purchase our veggies.
HDFI and Farmcorps members take a break from harvesting the first US Foods shipment of baby lettuce and Tatsoi to capture the moment. We are very excited about the opportunity to work with US Foods and to provide our community with our delicious greens!
After over 5 hours of harvesting, we boxed up 600 heads of lettuce and 21lbs of Tatsoi and put it right in the truck to complete our first produce order from US Foods. We have several big lettuce harvests coming up before we transition into our spring planting.
With nearly a 100% germination rate and fast growth, we are almost ready to transplant these Salanova seedlings into our hoop house.
